Anna Ferris Simpson (aged 19) is one of the youngest female Mentalist / Magicians to come out of the UK - and she is all set to take on the world and share her unique brand of mind-magic.
Anna’s style of mentalism is very different. Her performances involve, hanging upside down above people’s heads to read their minds - demonstrating super-human abilities from inside a glass tank surrounded by 250 gallons of water and receiving telepathic thoughts while bungee jumping. Anna describes her 5 senses as ‘highly sensitive’. She puts this down to a medical condition that meant she was unable to crawl or walk as a toddler, so instead, would entertain herself by exploring all kinds of puzzles, books and gadgets. “My mind was the first thing to develop” she says. “I didn’t cry for my feeds; I quickly discovered that squeezing a squeaky toy was enough to summon my parent’s attention”. Her smart mind got much attention when her GCSE exam results were the highest grades in the UK, achieving top marks in all of her subjects. Light Sculpture - The Magic Circle HQ London

Anna’s love for magic began in primary school. Being the ‘super smart kid’ often brought her negative attention from some of her peers, so she learned to play it down and used her skills in the art of magic & mentalism, often demonstrating her real abilities while knowing they would be dismissed as trickery.
Aged 7, Anna was chosen to appear on the BBC Newsround programme - and later, she achieved a role in the film ‘The Boy in the Dress’. Her first TV magic performance was in 2018 in Slovakia, on their Got Talent series, achieving those 4 big yeses for demonstrating that she could see with her ears. On a trip to central London, Anna discovered that there wasn’t a ‘history of magic’ tour for visitors. She knew London was the city where Houdini auditioned for a job in a variety show - and that the International Man of Mystery, David Berglas, demonstrated the impossible in the streets. It was where The Magic Circle was conceived and is home to the world’s longest family-run magic shop. So, Anna created London’s first walking Magic Tour. Anna also demonstrates her mind-magic on the radio, a rare occurrence for most mentalists. You can hear her on BBC & Independent national radio stations in the UK. Anna has just started her career in Mentalism, so your prediction is correct, there's much more to come! |
